Menopause Musings
Menopause Musings
As I pondered on the topic of menopause this morning, I was reminded of the unique challenges and experiences that women go through during this stage of their lives. Menopause is a natural biological process that marks the end of a woman's reproductive years, and it can bring with it a wide range of physical and emotional changes.
For many women, menopause is accompanied by symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, and changes in libido. These symptoms can be challenging to manage and can have a significant impact on a woman's quality of life.
However, menopause can also be a time of reflection and growth. It marks a transition from one stage of life to another, and it can be an opportunity to embrace new experiences and opportunities. Women who are going through menopause can use this time to focus on self-care, explore new interests, and deepen their relationships with loved ones.
As I think about menopause, I am reminded of the importance of supporting women during this time of transition. It is essential to recognize that every woman's experience of menopause is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. By providing support, education, and resources, we can help women navigate this stage of life with confidence and grace.

5 Minute Musings
It all begins & ends with you
It all begins and ends with you.
Everything, every last thought, every last emotion and every last decision.
We are responsible for ourselves.
Looking after our own emotional, physical and spiritual self care is our responsibility.
And this especially important for women who have/are experiencing menopause.
Skincare around this time really needs extra care.
Less sun, more SPF and more hydration.
Massage essential oils into your skin to keep the skin cells plumped up, this will give your skin a beautiful, fresh polished look.

It all begins & ends with you
Body brushing literally takes 5 minutes of your daily routine, it has amazing results it;
It costs virtually nothing
It makes your skin glow
It awakens your lymphatic system
It feels amazing
It helps excrete toxins that our body has been holding on to and reluctant to let go of
And it’s a fabulous kickstart to the day
Our skin is the largest organ in the human body, and as an adult has over 100,000 miles of arteries, veins and capillaries, it is no wonder toxins get trapped amongst all of this.
Dry body brushing has has been used for centuries by Scandinavians and Russians. More than 30 years ago a Finnish doctor by the name of Pavvo Airola prescribed this technique for his patients to detoxify, exfoliate and stimulate the skin.
I always reccommend massaging essential oils into the body after body brushing, the pores are now open and ready to soak up the chosen essential oils, a perfect way to eliminate toxins and then close the treatment with essential oils that may help support a detox.
If you would like to learn more on blending essential oils to support a detox drop me a message and I will happily explain in more detail.

Working towards my Retreat.
Working towards my Retreat
I am working incredibly hard behind the scenes to create a retreat. I suppose this was always going to happen, it was just a matter of when!
My work as a therapist was always about lifting people up, listening to them, supporting them and then helping them to reach their full potential, what ever that may be.
And I have now found a beautiful villa in the heart of the Mediterranean, Gozo, sister island of Malta, and it is absolutely perfect. I love the peace and tranquility that this place offers.
I am offering beautiful healthy food, fresh zesty juices , morning yoga and evening sunset walks.
There will be lots of healing therapies too.
I’m new to this, yet it just seems the absolute right thing to do.
Excited for the opportunity to share my journey with you.

Morning Musings.
Morning Musings
Mornings are my best time. I use this time to reflect on the day before & then I journal my day ahead. I also love the peace & quiet the morning brings. It wasn’t always like this however. I grew up in a very chaotic home where dad wouldn’t hesitate to take his belt off & hit any one of his 3 children.
The fear created an unstable, unsafe & unpredictable space to flourish. We did however, have a beautiful mum, nan, grandad & uncle Chris.
It was Uncle Chris who bought us a caravan in North wales, this would become our sanctuary & off we went every school holiday to be carefree, happy & free from any fear.
Even as far back as then I would learn to enjoy the peace & tranquility that the mornings brought.
This beautiful sunrise was taken from my balcony where I worked in Gozo, Malta. A stunning health retreat called Amchara .
I made a decision along time ago that I would get to choose my life & so I choose to live the best life I can.
My morning today is to swim in the Med, drink a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon in & breakfast will look a bit like this.. yoghurt & fruit..
What’s your morning looking like?
What ever you are doing, know that you can change the direction of your life just by making small changes.
Turn the impossible into I’m possible & go with that one.

Creating a Sacred Space Using Essential Oils
Creating a Sacred Space Using Essential Oils
Creating a sacred space in our home is essential. The Danish call this Hygge, (Pronounced Hu Gah)They believe it is essential to have a sacred space in your home where you can go to feel safe, grounded & peaceful.
Life can bowl us over with all sorts of stresses, our mind takes all of this on board & we can quickly feel overwhelm. We owe it to our selves to recognise when we need some down time & then to take action in order to replenish our mind, body & soul.
So how can we do this? Well first of all find a space in your home where you would like to disappear to, this can be difficult if you live in a small flat/house, but there is always a tiny corner which you can claim as your own.
When my children still lived at home, it was more difficult as kids/ teenagers seem to have a knack of taking over just about everywhere. And so I got my self a meditation cushion, some tingsha bells & some essential oils.
With love & gratitude,
Rose
I would often take a book & a cushion too, this was my chill out place, I would just lay back, put my feet up on the wall & read. Very often I would use this space to meditate.
But you may have a spare room where you can make really beautiful & just walk into when ever you feel you need time out. In a world full of complete overwhelm at the minute with all what is going on it's essential to recalibrate on a regular basis.
So what oils would I recommend for your sacred space?
I would definitely use a base note;
So perhaps;
Ylang Ylang
Sandalwood
Frankincense
Patchouli
And I would mix these with a floral middle note of say;
Geranium
Lavender
Melissa
I would add up to 10 drops max of your choice of oils on top of a ceramic burner, add water to the oils, light a tealight candle & pop it underneath & just wait for the essentials to waft around the room.
With love & gratitude,
Rose xx
All essential oils are;
Antiviral
Anti bacterial & so they are excellent for keeping your space free of toxins & building your immune system up.
Tell me, what do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Do you have a quiet space where you go to so you can catch your breath & clear the clutter out of your mind?
If we don't do this, then we are more at risk of getting burn out,if this happens then we become more at risk of seriously compromising our health.
This is one of the main reasons why people become ill, because they play down the levels of stress they're under until the body tells them otherwise.
Meditation, helps clear your mind so you can find tranquility,peace, calm & balance in your life again.
With love & gratitude,

What are you doing to come out of your comfort zone?
What are you doing to come out of your comfort zone?
I'm pleased my friend talked me into going to this beach party, I was really hesitant to go. I had spent far too much time on my own during the lock down, I also fell down the stairs, right from the top to the bottom & broke 3 of my fingers...
And so I couldn't even get back & do the work I loved so much because in effect I had broken the 'Tools of the trade'
And so I reluctantly took my self off to the party & I am so pleased I did. There was fabulous music, delicious food, lots of drink, birthday cake, gifts, amazing company & over all a beautiful atmosphere.
I even got some new client's too!
It is too easy to sit at home & get stuck in a rut, but we have to remember that life begins outside of our comfort zone..
My overall purpose of this year is to get out of my own way & step out of my comfort zone. I'm walking my talk & stepping up.
I have over 35 years experience in the field of Holistic Health & I have never been more eager to share my knowledge with you.
If Covid has taught me one thing, then it has been that time is far too precious to waste, so let's not play small any more, let's own our achievements & shout it from the roof tops, let's all share our knowledge & really begin to empower each other.
Catch ya Later, beauties,
Rose xx
